BURNING PERMITS - No burning permits are required. Please notify your neighbors and both fire departments of your plans to conduct a controlled burn.

DOG LICENSES - State law requires every dog five months of age or older to be licensed. To license your dog send current rabies vaccination certificate and annual fee to the town treasurer. Annual fees are $9 for male or female and $4 for spayed female or neutered male.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE - Mount Horeb Area Fire District serves the entire town.

FIRE DEPARTMENT - Springdale is made up two fire districts. Mount Horeb Area Fire District serves 70% of the town.

LAND USE PLAN AND LAND DIVISION/SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE - Copies are easy to obtain: Contact the town clerk to schedule a time to pick up a copy or to request that a copy be left in the town hall drop box. Copies are also available in the reference section of the Verona and Mt. Horeb public libraries . For those interested in creating land divisions, a Landowner's Application Guide is available from the clerk.

MEETING NOTICES - Notices for all meetings are published in the "Mount Horeb Mail" and "Country Shopper" and are posted in three places in town: Erfurth-Trainor Citgo Station in Mt. Vernon, Riley Tavern, and the Town Hall.

SENIOR CITIZEN SERVICES - SW DANE OUTREACH - is a resource center for persons 60+ who may need services (meals, transportation, etc.), information, and other resources to stay living independently in their home.

TOWN GOVERNMENT MEETINGS - Town Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month. The Plan Commission meets on the last Monday of the month. Meetings start at 8:00 p.m.in the town hall.

TRASH/RECYCLING - Curbside trash pick up and mandatory recycling is completed on Thursday of each week. The annual fee is included in your property tax bill. The basic weekly service includes disposal of one 30-35 gallon container or 30-35 gallon trash bag of garbage and rubbish and the pick up of recyclable materials placed in the proper condition at the curb. To exchange a damaged recycling bin for a new one, contact the town patrolman. In addition, Waste Management Inc. will collect additional garbage, appliances, bedding, furniture, etc. upon request for a fee.
